Generic Levitra is essentially the same drug with the same active ingredients. Generic Levitra has the same dosage, method of administration, strength and side effects as brand-name Levitra. The FDA requires the same strict policies on generic drugs as they do the brand-name drugs.

Often times the generic version of a drug may look or taste differently than the brand-name drug. This is because there are trademark laws in the United States that prohibit the generic drugs from being exactly the same as the brand-name. Erections occur because the penile tissues become engorged in blood. If a man is suffering from high cholesterol, blood pressure or diabetes then the arteries are not able to open and allow as much blood flow through. When this occurs, the penis is unable to gain an erection or sustain a quality erection. Generic Levitra can be taken with these disorders; however, one must consult their doctor before use.

Generic Levitra works as effectively as brand-name Levitra and is safe to use. Most patients will choose to use the generic version of the drug because it is easier on the pocketbook and some insurance companies will not pay for the full amount of the brand-name drugs.
