CLASS and MECHANISM of Action
Tadalafil is an oral medication for the treatment of erectile dysfunction. Tadalafil relaxes muscles within the penis. This allows increased blood flow into the penis, necessary to achieve and maintain an erection.
Tadalafil belongs to a group of medicine called phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitors. Blood vessels in the penis fill with blood to produce an erection. These chemicals help blood vessels in the penis relax, which helps the flow of blood. This results in improved erectile function. Tadalafil will be of no benefit if you do not have erectile problems. It is also important to realise that Tadalafil will not work if there is no sexual stimulation.
